I’m pleased to announce that I now give introductory music lessons with other instruments! The goal is to teach basic rhythm and playing with the djembe, and reading music and playing with the tin whistle or piano.

Many parents have asked me if I could give their children (5-12 years old) private music lessons, but with an instrument other than the guitar. Quality guitars for kids are expensive and let’s face it, it hurts in the beginning, which can discourage many (even adults). There is so much research listing the benefits of early exposure to music. But for me, playing music is fun and rewarding.

During the 2015 Fall session, I had a wonderful experience with the After-School Music program at Morin-Heights Elementary School. It was my third session with group guitar, but it was the first session that I offered other music lessons (djembe and tin whistle). It was amazing to see how quickly young children learn music.

Here are the ages and location for each instrument:
Djembe: 5-12 years old, at my studio or your residence
Piano: 5-12 years old, at your residence
Tin whistle: 8-12 years old, at my studio or your residence

The cost is $20 per 30-minute lesson. Please note, an additional travel fee may apply depending on the distance of your residence from my studio.
